While we were working on a project with to develop a fiber optic hydrophone, we made a small discovery. In short, the point is that you can use a chirped laser pulse to recover phase information from a Fabry-Perot interferometer. The pdf of the article is here phase_modulation.pdf

There was a frame with tracks and motors made by someone else. I did all the electronics and control. It turned out to be a rather frightening machine with two kilowatts of power.
